Obituary of John Oliver Mowry
After a period of failing health John Oliver Mowry of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Laura Mary (Allain) Mowry, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB, a son of the late Charles and Harriet (Booker) Mowry. John was owner and operator of Molar Construction, where he carried out his house construction trade. John had served overseas in England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany and Wales during WWII with the Armoured Division of the Lake Superior Regiment. He is survived by one daughter, Judy (Lloyd) Cathline of the Kingston Peninsula; two sons: Richard (Joanne) of Quispamsis, NB and Mark (Carmen) of Rothesay, NB; one sister, Eva Carr of Geary, NB; six grandchildren: Kira, Lynsi and Chad Cathline, Samantha, Jonathan and Laura Mowry, several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he is predeceased by five sisters: Helen, Mae, Mildred, Evelyn and Doris; and one brother, Stuart. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. At John's request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A private memorial service will be held from Brenan's Chapel with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery, Saint John West. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor's choice.
