Obituary of Exilda Evangline Carroll

The death of Hilda Carroll occurred at her residence, Rocmaura Nursing Home, on May 1st, 2006. She was born in Caraquet, NB on August 7th, 1915. Hilda worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a Nurse's Aid from 1959 until her retirement in 1980. She is survived by four sons: Daniel and Roy (Barb) both of Hamilton, ON, Lloyd "Butch" (Paula) of Saint John, NB and Michael (Jan) of Alberta; two daughters: Sherry Carroll of Alberta and Mona (Rheal) Gagnon of Quebec; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Elmer J. Carroll, two sons: Eugene and Sonny Carroll and daughter Eleanor Pitre. All her brothers and sisters have predeceased her; she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated from Brenan's Chapel on Thursday, May 4th, 2006 at 10 am. Internment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery following the service. In Hilda's memory, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
