Obituary of PETER W. BARKER

The death of Peter William Barker of Upham, NB, husband of the late M. Joan (Marr) Barker, occurred on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Norman and Mary (Ferrie) Barker. Peter was a Labourer with Marquis Construction for many years before his retirement. He is survived by two sons, Michael (Juanita) of Saint John and Bernard of Fredericton, four daughters, Iona Kelly (James) of Quispamsis, Mary Melanson (Clorice) of Saint John, Betty Barker of Saint John and Cindy Barker (Jerry Parlee) of Quispamsis, one brother, Ernest Barker (Delores) of Saint John, three sisters, Mary Steeves of Sussex, Edna Cannon of Saint John and Josie Pugh of the Kingston Peninsula, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and companion Doreen Eadle. He was predeceased by son, Peter, grandson, Billy-Jo, one brother, Bernie and one sister, Doris MacFarland. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, May 5, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 3:30 pm. Following cremation, interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
