Obituary of John Oxenham Edward THOMPSON

The death of John O. E. Thompson, husband of Lillian (Little) Thompson of Saint John, NB, occurred suddenly on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan, the son of the late Stephen and Winnifred (Tucker) Thompson, JOE was a member of the RCMP and retired as Staff Sergeant following 25 years of service. JOE was a member of the Senior Kiwanis Group in Saint John and the RCMP Veterans Association and he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Survived by his wife, Lillian; three sons: John Thompson and his wife, Pauline of Harvey Station, NB, Dr. David Thompson and his wife, Dr. Gretchen Zimmerman of Houston, Texas, Barry Thompson and his wife, Susan Guravich of Fredericton, NB; a daughter, Joan Chaisson and her husband, Joe of Dartmouth, NS; a sister, Rita "Betty" Revenko of Lethbridge, Alberta; five grandchildren: Ross, Kimberley, Richard, Rebecca and Kate. Grampy JOE will be sadly missed by all. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 and Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station (506) 366-1994. Following cremation a memorial service will be held in Harvey Station on June 11, 2006 (at a time to be announced) with interment following in Harvey Station. Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital PET-CT Scanner Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
