Obituary of Mary K. Magee
With sorrow we announce the death of Mary K. Magee, of Saint John, on May 12, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Samuel and Annie (Smith) Wilbur she was born at McKee's Mills, Kent Co., on July 17, 1908. She was a Registered Nurse and had worked at the Moncton Hospital. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her husband Harold A. Magee and son Charles W. Magee predeceased her. Surviving are sons Michael C. (Carol) of Saint John, James L. (Barbara) Cambridge-Narrows, step-son Harold A. (Linda) of Moncton, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Edith Ave Baptist Church, and had received a life membership in the Women's Missionary Society. She was a Past Noble Grand of Sapphire Rebekah Lodge # 37, I.O.O.F., and a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant, I.O.O.F., of the Maritime Provinces. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Sapphire Rebekah Lodge # 37 will hold a Tribute Service Sunday Evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 15, 2006, at 11:00 am, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to Edith Ave Baptist Church, or the Luxor Shriner's Hospital Transportation Fund for Children.
