Obituary of Edith Helen HELPARD
HELPARD, Edith Helen - The death of Edith Helen Helpard, wife of the Walter Helpard of Saint John, NB, occurred on Thursday, May 17, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Belleisle, NB, a daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Roberts, Edith had worked for McAvity's for fourteen years and for the Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax, NS where she met her husband. Survived by her husband, Walter; two sons, Harold Fulton (Sharon) of Saint John and William "Billy"(Aurella) Fulton of Erving, Mass; a daughter, Eldena "Dena" (Edward) Dunphy of Saint John; a brothers, Eldon (Vera) Roberts of England, UK; three sisters, Florence Brade of Halifax, Mary McDonald of Windsor, NS and Mildred Rigby of BC; fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers: Charles, Frank, Fred, Edmond, Ernest and Harold; sisters: Bessie, May and Hilda; two grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth and Angela Dawn Dunphy. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006 from Brenan's Chapel at 11 am with interment following in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Extra-Mural Program Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
