Obituary of Linfield Byron Hanson
The death of Linfield B. Hanson, of Saint John West, occurred unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at home. Born in Zealand, N.B., on July 13, 1946, he was the son of Martha C. (Moorehouse) and Merle E. Hanson. Survived by three children, Karyn (Sullivan) Frost of Saint John, David B. Sullivan of Oromocto, N.B., and Stephen Hanson of Keswick Ridge, N.B. five grandchildren - Brianna, Kristi, Stephen, Amy-Jo, and Megan. In addition, he is survived by one brother, Keith Hanson, and four sisters, Peggy Crouse, Beryl Brewer, Patsy Moorehouse, all of Zealand, N.B., and Rhoda Waddell of Sackville, N.S. Linfield was employed with Irving Equipment Ltd. as a heavy equipment mechanic for over 40 years at the time of his death. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks as a hobby, with his nephew and friend Russie Hanson. He loved spending his weekends with daughter Karyn, son-in-law Andrew and granddaughter Brianna. By Linfield's request, there will be no visitation or service. A private family interment will take place at a later date, following cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Children's Wish Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424).
