Obituary of ANGELA T. INNES

The death of Angela Theresa (Lawless) Innes, 85, of Quispamsis, wife of Ian C. Innes, occurred peacefully on Saturday May 20, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Kamsack, SK, on September 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph Aloysius and Ethel (Brown) Lawless. Angela was born in Kamsack, SK and then raised in Regina, SK. She was married in London, ON and subsequently moved around the world, namely Kingston, ON, Montreal, PQ, Cleveland, TN, Whakatane, New Zealand, Portland, OR, Atlanta, GA and Rothesay, NB, finally settling in Quispamsis. Holidays from New Zealand enabled her to see much of the world, notably the Taj Mahal and the Vatican. Angela's life was centered on her family and she was always there to give support and encouragement to her husband and children. Always a faithful Catholic, Angela was elected to State President of the Catholic Women of Tennessee in 1958 and was active in the construction of a new church in Cleveland, TN. She also enjoyed many years reading the scriptures at Mass as a Lector at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Rothesay. She was a longtime volunteer at the Saint John General Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital and was very proud to receive her 2000 hour pin for her dedicated service. Angela was an avid golfer and was a member of Riverside Golf and Country Club for 37 years where she was Match Captain of the ladies section in the late 1980's. She will be remembered as a tireless correspondent who kept all family and friends in touch through letters and countless cards sent all over the world. Besides her devoted husband of 61 years, Angela leaves to mourn her two sons, Don (Dorothy) of Woodstock, GA and Jim (Molene) of Melbourne, FL, two daughters, Jennifer Passarelli (Eugene) of Leesburg, VA and Erin Franklin (Steve) of Marietta, GA, one brother, Michael Lawless of Richmond, BC, one sister Peggy Byars of Toronto, ON, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, special cousin, Hal Isnor (Verna) of Hampton and many dear close friends, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Eric Lawless and two sisters, Emily Johnson and Mae Lawless. Angela will be greatly missed by so many on Earth. The Lord has loaned us this precious lady and now He calls her home to Heaven. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 12:00 Noon. A private family interment will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Romero House-Soup Kitchen would be appreciated.
