Obituary of ALLAN C. W. COSSEY

The death of Allan Charles William Cossey of 579 Sand Cove Road, Saint John West, husband of Elizabeth (Irwin) Cossey, occurred on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Australia on May 13, 1917, he was the son of the late James and Ruby (McMillan) Cossey. Allan was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick and the University of Maine and taught school for many years at Vocational School before his retirement. He was an avid gardener, loved a good game of golf and prior to his teaching career, Allan was an Electrician with various companies in Saint John. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, James "Jim" (Pam) of Saint John, one daughter, Shawn Thorne (Michael) of Fredericton, one brother, Colin Cossey of Sydney, Australia, grandchildren, Eric and Lisa Cossey and Jacob, Emily and Joel Thorne, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Millen and Leonard Cossey. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 26, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
