Obituary of Marjorie J. Gallant
GALLANT, MARJORIE J.- It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Joyce Gallant of 69 Turnbull Place, Saint John, wife of Joseph William Gallant, announces her passing, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Marjorie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Lillian (Arseneau) Brown. Marjorie was the Manager of Atlantic Collection Agency for many years before her retirement. She was an active member of St. Pius X Parish, where she was the coordinator of the Bereavement committee. Marjorie was past President and longtime member of the CWL and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her nine children who will miss her dearly, Michael (Elaine) of Saint John, Wayne (Kathy) of Quispamsis, Brian (Lise) of Gatineau, PQ, Dale (Mario) of Brampton, ON, Stephen (Marianne) of Kingston, ON, Neal (Lynn) of Saint John, Jeffrey (Shelley) of Saint John, Denise Kantor (Glen) of Oromocto and Lisa Worden (Daniel) of Saint John, 22 grandchildren,, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Otty, Wendall and Blair Brown. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, Saint John on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, the St. Pius X Church Restoration Fund or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
