Obituary of VINCENT JAMES YOUNG
Surrounded by his loving family, Vincent Young husband of the late Dorothy (Burlock) Young of Kennebec Manor passed away peacefully on June 3rd, 2006 at his residence. Born on August 1st, 1914 in Midland, NB to the late Gordon and Laura (Wasson) Young. In the early years, Vincent was a mechanic at Chitticks. After Chitticks, he owned and operated Crown Taxi and drove for various others for the next 33 years until his retirement. After he retired, Vincent went back to work at Canadian Tire for two additional years. In his spare time he transported cars for Downey's Saint John and St. Stephen. Vincent loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He is survived by three sons: Vincent C. (Maureen) of Mississauga, ON, Robert (Lona) of St. Stephen, NB and David (Gwen) of Saint John, NB; daughter Lana (Murray) Walsh of Passekeag, NB; two brothers: Jack and Herschel (Pat) both of Vancouver Island, BC; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents Vincent was predeceased by two brothers: Sanderson and Goldwin Young and three sisters Ruby Hebert and infant sisters Marie and Violet. At Vincent's request there will be no traditional visitation of funeral service. A Graveside committal service will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery on Wednesday June 7th, 2006 at 2 pm. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society of Saint John or the charity of the donor's choice. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424).
