Obituary of John Arthur SCALLAN

The death of John Arthur Scallan formerly of Summerville, NB, husband of Frances (Ring) Scallan, occurred on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the Kennebec Manor, Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John a son of the late John and Agatha (Gillen) Scallan, Art was a contractor by trade. Survived by his wife, Frances; a step-son, Gerald G. Gray (Lori Hughes) of Summerville; three step-daughters, Donna Louise (Shawn) Maxwell of Rowley, NB, Mary Ellen (Jason) Campbell of Nauwigewauk, NB, and Helen Elizabeth (Michael) Comeau of Chance Harbour, NB; four grandchildren, Jared Grass, Matthew Maxwell, Dylan Campbell and Zachary Perry. Predeceased by a brother, Billy Bain and three sisters, Helen Bain, Barbara Scallan and Mary Scallan. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday 7-9 pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Bridget's Church, Chapel Grove, NB on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 11 am. Interment will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the St. Bridget's Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
