Obituary of Vernon Eugene Ross
Ross, Vernon Eugene 'Red' The death of Vernon Eugene Ross, husband of Ruth A. (Krieger) Ross, occurred on June 13, 2006, at his residence, the Kennebec Manor. He was born in Saint John and served during WW II with the Canadian Army, 3rd Army Signal Corps, landing in France on June 6th, 1944 returning to Canada in 1945. He was employed with various jobs before becoming partners with Forrester Green in the Red Green Exchange. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Anglican Church and was a member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club. An avid sports enthusiast he played handball and golf and enjoyed harness racing. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Susan Ross-Foster and her husband Jim of Oshawa, ON, his granddaughter Vanessa Menzies and her husband Brad and his 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Katherine and his 1st wife Grace (Ritchie) Ross. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2006 at 11:00 am, from Trinity Anglican Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Trinity Church Restoration Fund, Meals on Wheels or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
