Obituary of Muriel Constance Sambles
Sambles, Muriel Constance (Stopp), widow of William C. Sambles. Unexpectedly at her home on June 21, 2006. Muriel was born in Saint John in 1927 and was the daughter of the late Sadie and William Stopp. She was also predeceased by an infant brother, Raymond Stopp and her beloved sister Marie (widow of Ralph Fitzpatrick), her niece, Nancy (Fitzpatrick) Harris and nephew Robert Fitzpatrick. Muriel was the last remaining member of her immediate family. Muriel began her career at the bank in Saint John and after living in Toronto for a short period, returned to work in Saint John, retiring in mid-1980 from Wood Gundy. Muriel is survived by her special cat "Sport" as well as several nieces, great-nieces, great-great nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-great nephews from Dartmouth, Vancouver, Mississauga, Saint John and area. She maintained a close relationship with her late sister Marie and Ralph and their immediate surviving family, which includes her nieces, Debbie Smith of Moncton and Joan (Robert) Chenier, of Quispamsis as well as nephews, William (Joanne), Donald (Valerie), Raymond (Susan), Stephen (Mary), Kevin (Holly), all of Saint John, and Brian (Corinne) of Fredericton. She always held a special place in all our hearts and will be greatly missed. Muriel has requested cremation and no visitation, with a private family burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of their choice. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424).
