Obituary of Walter Allan Helpard

The death of Walter Helpard, husband of the late Edith (Roberts) Helpard, occurred in Rothesay, NB on July 15th, 2006. Born on February 8th, 1924 in St. John’s, NF to the late Nelson and Hannah (Miller) Helpard. Walter worked for School Board in Halifax as a custodian and at the Lord Nelson Hotel where he meet his wife Edith. Survived by two sons, Harold Fulton (Sharon) of Saint John and William "Billy"(Aurella) Fulton of Erving, Mass; a daughter, Eldena "Dena" (Edward) Dunphy of Saint John, fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents Walter was predeceased by three brothers: Raymond, Gordon and Nelson; two sisters, Ada and Olive. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 18th, 2006 at 11 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Internment will be held following the service in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Extra-Mural Program Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice
