Obituary of Gordon E. Lawson
It is with great sadness we announce the death of Gordon E. Lawson, at the age of 93. He was predeceased by the love of his life Gertrude (Childerhouse/Lacey) Lawson. His career began with Maple Leaf Dairies during the horse and wagon days while during the War Years he managed a machine shop in Petitcodiac. He had a long career in the automotive business with Lawson Motors in Saint John, Fredericton, Sussex and St. Stephen. His last few years were spent at Chateau Champlain where he made many friends, old and new. He was always there with a smile, wave and a kiss on the hand. He is survived by his daughters Anne Darrah (Rob) of Fredericton, Connie Keyes (Sean) of Saint John, son Al Lacey (Norma) of Fredericton, brother Malcolm Lawson (Dorothy), grandchildren Edward, Elizabeth, Sean Joseph, Kelly, Paul, Connie A., Sarah, Vincent, Liana, Mark, Kimberley, Keltie, Jessica, Heather and 29 great-grandchildren, and nephew John. His parents David (Davey) and Elsie J. (Evans) Lawson, brother Roy M. Lawson, sisters Annie Beryl Trent, Elsie Maude Lawson, Doris J Crawford, and nephew David Michael Lawson predeceased him. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at 11:00 am, from Brenan’s Chapel. Following cremation interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to Hospice of Saint John, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the charity or the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
