Obituary of Walter A. Craig
At Kennebec Manor, Saint John, on July 27, 2006, Walter “Bunky” Craig, formerly of Ketepec, died peacefully in his sleep. Born in Saint John, in 1930, he was a son of the late Edward and Josephine (Wetmore) Craig. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Anne Emily (Quigley) Craig and brothers, Gordie, Hilyard and Buddy. Bunky worked for over 30 years at Irving Pulp and Paper before moving on to Fundy Linen where he retired in 1995. He will always be remembered for his own rendition of Hank Snow songs on the guitar. Also his door-to-door T.V. Repair Service in the 1950’s and 60’s, and he “thought” he was an avid carpenter, electrician, plumber, mason, mechanic… He is survived by his daughters, Judy MacLean (Alan), Wendy Craig (Maurice), Cathy Cormier (Paul) and Kimberly Connors (Joey) and two sons, Danny Craig (Bonnie) and Michael Craig (Linda), 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Lorraine Haslett, Noreen McCarthy and Bonnie Gillespie, one brother, Wallace Craig and their families. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 31, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
