Obituary of Donald M. Parks
The death of Donald Melvin Parks of Saint John East, husband of Sylvia (Dunn) Parks, occurred on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Alva and Gladys (Lobb) Parks. Donald was employed with the City of Saint John Water and Sewerage Department for 29 years before his retirement. Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Dana Justice (David) of Surrey, BC and Christopher Parks (Joan) of Victoria, BC, two step-children, Sharon Martin and Shane Hanson (Natalie) both of Saint John, one brother, Reuel Parks of Fredericton, three sisters, Shirley Gaudet (Bill), Jean Eisner (Donald) and Maureen Porter all of Saint John, 7 grandchildren, Aiden, Terran, Lesli (Shawn), Shannon (Scott), Courtney, Devon and Justin, one great granddaughter, Sophie, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Gregory Parks and two sisters, Alva Stackhouse and Lois McDonough. By request there will be no visiting. Memorial Service will be held at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Extra Mural Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
