Obituary of Janet Leggat O'Hara
O’HARA, Janet Leggat … The death of Janet Leggat O’Hara, wife of the late Raymond O’Hara, occurred on September 3, 2006 at the Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB. Born in Motherwell, Scotland on January 8, 1919, a daughter of the late Richard and Isabella (Ferguson) Baxter, Janet immigrated to Canada in 1927, settled in Sydney Mines and later moved to Saint John; she was a Past-Mistress of the LOBA. Survived by two sons: Donald (Geraldine) of Saint John and Richard (Mary) of Lakeside, NB; two daughters: Shirley (William) Lemmon of Lower Sackville, NS and Raelene O’Hara (Brenton Cook) of Quispamsis, NB; one brother, Richard (Anne) Baxter of Halifax, NS; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband, Raymond; a son, David; brothers, Alec, William and James; a sister, Nyna. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday at 2:15 pm. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
