Obituary of Viola M. Hunter
The last surviving member of her immediate family, the death of Viola May (Proctor) Hunter, age 68, of Saint John, occurred on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of the late Addy and Lila (Clain) Proctor. Viola was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, and was treasurer of the Brunswick Drive high rise club, enjoyed painting pictures, knitting, bingo, bus trips with the seniors and volunteered with various groups and loved country music. Viola attended St. Martins School and Holy Trinity Angilcan Church while growing up in St. Martins.Viola is survived by sister-in-law, Jessie Bennett (Greg) of St. Martins; nephew, Stephen (Darlene) Proctor of St. Martins; several other nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Chipman, Frank, Herbie and Murray, sisters, Myrtle Plume and Marie Steeves. By her request there will be no visiting. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, St. Martins, NB, at 2:00 pm. Interment in Mosher Hill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424).
