Obituary of Betty Florence Achorn
The death of Betty Florence Achorn, wife of the late Joseph Edwin Achorn, occurred on September 26, 2006 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude Louise (Murphy) Bartlett. She was a loving wife and mother providing a good home for her family. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crafts. She sold Avon and was employed with Eastern Food Services at Bayside School before retiring as supervisor at the Saint John Airport. Surviving are her daughters Donna J. Achorn of Fredericton, Brenda L. Thorne (Steven) of Saint John, sons James E. (Wendy), Gary P. (Claudette), sisters Ruth Bonner, Nancy McCoy (Robert), Joanne Richard (Guy), Dawn Vautour, Linda Steele (Wayne), brothers Bill Bartlett, James Bartlett, all of the greater Saint John area, 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her new great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Her brother Donald predeceased her Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2006, at 2:15 pm, from Brenans Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated.
