Obituary of Donald David Wilkins
The death of Don Wilkins, husband of Alma Wilkins (nee Eatmon), occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Millidge Avenue, Saint John, NB (formerly of Spar Cove Road) on Tuesday, September 26, 2006. Born on January 18, 1942 in Saint John, NB to the late Reginald and Matilda Wilkins. Don worked hard all his life. He was employed at Irving Pulp and Paper Ltd. for the last 35 years until his retirement. Don was an avid hockey fan; he loved the Leafs, and could be spotted regularly at Harbour Station for the Saint John Flames’ home games. Don is survived by his wife Alma, two sons: Peter (Karen) of Dartmouth, NS and Jason (Christina) of Saint John, NB; two daughters, Victoria (Michael) and Michelle (Michael) all of Saint John, NB; four brothers: Chester, Ronald (Hilda), Harold, and Douglas (Betty); three sisters: Pat Mason, Doreen Coggins and Geraldine Neilson; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Jillian and Brent; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) where visitation took place on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. only. The funeral service will be held in Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 2:15 pm. Interment at a later date. Remembrances may be made to NB Lung Association or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
