Obituary of Robert J. Munro
Robert J. (Bob) Munro- Born in Saint John, died peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, September 29, 2006. A baker by trade, Bob worked at several bakeries in the city: Home Delicatessen, French Pastry (Charlotte Street), and Vern's Bake Shop (King Street and Main Street West). He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also loved swimming and boating at the family cottage at Hunter Lake. He was a faithful, longtime member of St Mary & St Bartholomew's Church. He was the son of the late Ralph A. and Mary L. (Snodgrass) Munro and is survived by wife Marlene A. (Wilson), son Bob (Lynn), and daughter Lisa (Eric) Giguere. He also leaves two granddaughters, Stephanie Munro and Victoria Giguere, and two great-granddaughters, Shelby and Kailyn Munro. Also surviving are one brother, Bill (Shirley); three sisters, Dorothy Munro, Mary Sullivan and Ruth (Dave) Durley; two brothers-in-law, Vernon (Mary) Wilson and Wayne (Sharon) Wilson; and one sister-in-law, Lynne (Gordon) Allaby. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Saturday, September 30th from 7-9 p.m. only and Sunday, October 1st from 7-9 p.m. only. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary & St. Bartholomew's Church, 648 Westmorland Road, on Monday, October 2nd at 1 p.m., with burial to follow at St. Martins Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
