Obituary of L. Gerard O’Connor

The death of Leo Gerard “Bud” O’Connor of Elgin, NB, occurred on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex, NB, he was a son of the late Leo and Evelyn (Mahoney) O’Connor. Bud was employed with the Port of Saint John as a longshoreman until his retirement, he enjoyed playing guitar with his son Matthew and horse racing. He is survived by son Matthew O’Connor of Saint John; brothers, Eldon (Diane) and Gene (Barb) both of Saint John; sisters, Helen O’Connor of Saint John and Lynn Bryant of British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. By request there will be no visiting. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 6, 2006 from St. Peters Church at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Isadore Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to South Branch Cemetery Fund, c/o Tom Long, 299 Main Street, Saint John, NB E2K 1J1or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
