Obituary of Justine Maria 'Marie' Lecouter
Surrounded by her family, the unexpected death of Marie Lecouter of MacKay Street, Saint John, NB occurred on October 8, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Marie was born on May 25, 1943 in Rogersville, NB, a daughter of Edgar and Therese (Caissie) Hachey. She worked at the Saint John Regional Hospital in the Housekeeping Department for 25 years until her retirement. Marie was a member of the R.O.A.B., T.O.P.S. (1512) and the Cathedral Parish. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and was an avid bingo player and Blue Jays fan. Survived by two sons: Danny (Heather) and Norman (Margaret) both of Saint John, NB; four daughters: Ann Marie Lecouter, Susan Cook, Annette Mahar (Kevin), Monique (Greg) Lecouter, all of Saint John, NB; their father, George Lecouter; three brothers: Donny (Gail), Norman (Lorna) and Roger (Agnes) Hachey; two sisters: Jeannette (Roger) Bourque and Sylvia (Tony) Stewart; nine grandchildren: Allan, Amanda, Shyanne, Miranda, Daniel, Samantha, Sarah Lynn, Christian, and Hailey; six great grandchildren: Brayden, Kiersten, Kameron, Kassidy, Triften and Kylee. Marie was predeceased by her friend John Fanney and son-in-law, Percy “Junior” Cook. She will be sadly missed by all, but especially by Smokey her cat. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A tribute service conducted by the R.O.A.B. will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 pm during visiting. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 10 am. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the service. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor’s choice.
