Obituary of Mary Rita Pratt
The death of Rita Pratt wife of the late Loyde Pratt, of the Loch Lomond Villa, occurred on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born on October 20, 1929 in Revere, MA a daughter of the late Owen and Gertrude (MacDougall) Burchill. Rita worked at Gary C. Seely Ltd. as a secretary for years until her retirement. Survived by six children: Mary-Ann (Art) LeJeune of Dundee, NB, Michael (Karen) of Halifax, NS, Carolyn (Kevin) Clifford of Loch Lomond, NB, Susan (Michael) Murphy of Quispamsis, NB, Ellen (Gerald) Vautour of Halifax, NS, Sharon (Jason) Hopkins of Lindsay, ON; two sisters: Mildred (Ronald) LeBlanc of Moncton, NB and Bernadette Bastarache of Saint John, NB; one brother Frederick Burchill (Lola) of Moncton, NB; nine grandchildren: Christopher, David, Tracey-Lynn, Peter, Matthew, Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Jacob and Ben; two great grandchildren: David and Summer Dawn. Besides her husband and parents Rita was predeceased by five brothers: Joseph, Leonard, Howard, Amon, and Harold Burchill and four sisters: Dorothy Yeomans, Rose Marie Foote, Madeline McBriarty and Donna Burchill. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB 634-7424 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St Ann’s Parish on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 1 pm. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the mass. Reception will follow the committal service at Brenan’s Funeral Home. Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation.
