Obituary of Mabel Mary Kelly
The death of Mabel Mary (Kelly) Kelly, wife of the late Martin Roy Kelly, occurred after a long illness on October 18, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She lived with her son in Ketepec. Born in Kouchibouguac, Kent Co., NB, she was the eldest daughter of the late Joseph Michael and Emma (Daigle) Kelly. With the sudden death of her mother when she was 18 she took on the job of looking after her brothers and sisters. Surviving is her son Martin Roy Kelly Jr., daughters Eleanor Caruso, late husband Carl, and their son Carl, Audrey Chamberlain, husband Jim, and their children Cindy, Tammy, Wendy and Jimmy, Barbara Franklin, husband Ken, and their son Gordin, and her 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by James Kelly, Edward Kelly and Shirley Ouellet to whom she was considered a second Mom and loved them as her own, and her sisters Elmira Daigle, Freda Rogers and Nita Kelly and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters; Hattie Horne, Sadie Kelly, James Kelly, Walter Kelly, Melvin Kelly and Herbert Kelly. "My Mother loved life, her husband and family, also took to other people whom she just met, and they all loved her, she was a loving person. Mabel will continue to be loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.” Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at 10:00 am from Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Kidney Foundation will be appreciated.
