Obituary of William Francis Bartlett
The death of William Francis Bartlett formerly of Cottage Road, Saint John, husband of the late Marie Ella (Dobson) Bartlett, occurred on Monday, October 23, 2006 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late William Henry and Gertrude Louise (Murphy) Bartlett. Mr. Bartlett was a Protection Officer with the Federal Department of Fisheries for many years before his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Korean Veterans Unit #1 and was a 31 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He also was a 50 year member of the R.A.O.B. and a former member of the Canadian Pilots Association. He is survived by two sons, Douglas (Judy) and Dana (Starr) and one daughter Elizabeth Hicks (Dwight) all of Saint John, one brother, James Bartlett, five sisters, Ruth Bonner, Nancy McCoy (Robert), Joanne Richard (Guy), Dawn Smith and Linda Steele (Wayne) all of Saint John, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A special son Stephen Leech “Antonio” and his two sons Paul-Desmond and Elias of Soulingen, Germany, special friends Roland Chandler, the Rev. John Martin, staff and Veteran’s of Ridgewood. He was predeceased by one brother, Donald, one sister Betty Achorn and brothers- in-law Joseph Edwin Achorn and Thomas Bonner. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A tribute to a Veteran service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7pm. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated.
