Obituary of Leo James McKinney
The death of Leo McKinney, husband of the late Allien (Reid) McKinney, occurred on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on November 4, 1927 in Saint John, NB to the late Thomas and Olvia (Quinlan) McKinney. Leo worked at the Saint John Dry Dock until his retirement. Survived by his four sons: Jim (Kim), Walt (Tanya), Peter (Dawn) all of Saint John and Dean (Tracey) of Ontario; four brothers: Thomas (Mary) of Saint John, NB, Billy, John and Peter all of Ontario; two sisters: Theresa Jenkins and Geniven Cripps both of Ontario; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Leo was predeceased by three brothers Joseph, Fred and Gregory McKinney. At Leo’s request there will be no visitation. A traditional Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 12 noon. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the mass. Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation.
