Obituary of Agnes Boardman
The death of Agnes Boardman, of Saint John, wife of Albert Boardman (deceased), occurred on Monday, October 30th, 2006 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Saint John. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on June 14th, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Cameron) Harper. Agnes was employed for many years, as a buyer-manager at M.R.A.’s department store, and subsequently in a similar capacity with Scovil Bros., until her retirement. She was a member of St. Andrew & St. David United Church and the International Order of King’s Daughters and Sons, but her passion was her family, and her constant companion in later years … Charlie, her cherished lahsa aphso. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by one daughter, Beverley Ann, of Saint John, two sons, Wayne Albert of Moncton, and Daryl Harper of Fredericton, long time family friend and caregiver, Louise Wilcox, of Fredericton, niece, Joyce Harper Woodhead of Toronto, ON, and nephew Ronald Harper (Judy) of Dartmouth, NS. She was predeceased by one brother, John Harper, of Sydney, NS. By request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, with family members, at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Thomas officiating. Remembrances can be made to the charity of the donors’ choice. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
