Obituary of Judith M. Nilsson
Nilsson, Judith “Judy” M. – The death of Judith “Judy” Margaret Nilsson (nee Hickman) of Saint John born July 1, 1952, the beloved wife of 33 years to Gary Nilsson, occurred on Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital peacefully with her family at her side. Judy was a daughter of the late H. Raymond and Mary (nee Harley) Hickman. Born and raised in the North End of Saint John, she always considered St. Luke’s Anglican Church her place of worship. Judy was a bookkeeper/ payroll clerk and worked for Canadian Linen, Alternate Heating and Loyalist Painting over the years. She also helped in starting up the Lakewood Community Center at Lakewood School, started and organized the Summer Recreation Program at Lakewood School. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Bar Harbour, Maine and most recently their trip to Old Orchard Beach and Cape Cod. Judy loved to be around family and friends, they were everything to her and she cherished every moment with them. Surviving in addition to her loving husband Gary, are two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Holly and Scott Scichilone of St. Stephen; Lisa and Mike Lawson of Riverview and her two precious twin granddaughters, Jade and Amber Scichilone. Also survived by her loving sister and brother, Diane and Mike Nearing of Hampton; David and Cheryl Hickman of Ottawa; fifteen nieces and nine nephews, many aunts, uncles and dozens of cousins, two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and several close and dear friends. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday, November 6 & 7, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital P.E.T.- CT Unit or a charity of the donor’s choice.
