Obituary of Loretta M. Poirier
The death of Loretta Mary (Manuel) Poirier of Rothesay, wife of the late Raymond Poirier, occurred on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Baie Sainte Anne, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Rose (Chaisson) Manuel. Loretta was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She is survived by three sons: Eldore (Diane) Martin of Baie Sainte Anne; Alex (Marie) Martin of Halifax; Claude Poirier of Calgary; two daughters: Monica (Walter) Neal of Rothesay; and Carol (Wayne Connell) Poirier of Grand Bay; four sisters: Arthimise Gordon, Louise Manuel, Doreen (Gordon) Dunham and Diane Doucet, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by two daughters: Melita Rackley and Carmel Poirier, eight brothers and four sisters. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (637-7424) with visiting on Monday, November 13, 2006 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
