Obituary of Melina M. Butler
The death of Melina Marie (Savoie) Butler, formerly of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Leo Butler, occurred on Wednesday, December 06, 2006 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Center. Born in Lagaceville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Rachelle (Robichaud) Savoie. Melina was employed in the laundry department at St. Joseph's Hospital before retiring and a member of St. Ann's Church. Her passion for fiddle playing lasted for her lifetime. She entertained family and friends right up to and including her 95th year. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Melina is survived by two sons: Ronald of Shelburne, ON and Claude (Katherine) of Quispamsis, NB; two daughters: Angela (Jerry) Lester of Bains Corner, NB and Claudia Butler of Quispamsis, NB; grandson, Joel Butler (Emily); granddaughters, Karen Lester (Sean), Andrea, Stephanie and Michele Butler; great-grandson, Aiden Lomax and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by three brothers: Thomas, Alphonse and Jeremy; three sisters: Marguerite Robichaud, Leona Vienneau and Exelia Savoie. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9, 2006 from St. Ann's Church at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
