Obituary of William ‘Ronald’ McFarlane
William ‘Ronald’ McFarlane passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2006 at his Liberty Lane residence, the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Sussex, NB, July 5, 1921 Ron was the son of the late Octavia (Lisson) and William McFarlane. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Jean (Shannon), one brother Alden and three sisters Annie (O’Neill) Hawkes, Verna (Maber) Hart and Ruth Moore. Ron was a veteran of WW II serving overseas with the New Brunswick Rangers. Ron was employed at Saint John Ship Building and Dry Dock retiring in January 1984 after 31 years service. Ron was an avid outdoors person who spent time at his camp and enjoyed hunting. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed bowling. He is survived by his two sons Rick McFarlane and Tony McFarlane (Lori), two daughters Donna Bernard (Norman), Cathy Bacon (Bev), seven great-grandchildren, sixteen grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2006, at 11:15 am, from Brenans Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrance made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
