Obituary of Elizabeth Irene ‘Betty’ Dechamp

The death of Elizabeth Irene ‘Betty’ Dechamp, wife of Wason Arthur Dechamp, occurred on December 9, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Jane (Avery) Peddle. She taught at Crescent Valley Elementary and was a Special Ed Teacher. She was a member of the NB Teacher Association. Beside her husband Wason she is survived by her sister Doreen Thompson and her husband Ray of Saint John, niece Mary Lou Reid, nephew Ken Thompson and several other nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and one great-great grand nephew. Her brothers Norman and Lloyd predeceased her. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at 2:15 pm, from Brenan’s Chapel. Remembrances made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
