Obituary of George Glenroy Cook
The death of George Glenroy Cook, husband of Norma M. (Ogilvie) Cook, occurred on December 19, 2006 at the Kennebec Manor. Born in Black’s Harbour, he was the son of Manford and Kathleen (Gaudet) Cook. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator with J. D. Irving Ltd. before his retirement. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters Karen Robertson and her husband Vincent of Kars, Donna Cook of Saint John, his brothers Robert Cook and his wife Karen of Woodland, ME, Glenroy Cook and his wife Leona of Black’s Harbour, granddaughter Olivia and several cousins, nieces and nephews. His brother Vance Cook, sister Delila Cook and step-son Donald predeceased him. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 22, 2006, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, at the First Wesleyan Church, Boars Head Road, at which time the funeral service will take place. Interment will take place in St. George Rural Cemetery. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
