Obituary of Elizabeth 'Betty' J. O'Brien
O’BRIEN, ELIZABETH “BETTY” J.- The death of Elizabeth “Betty” Joan O’Brien, of 460 City Line, Saint John West, wife of the late Leo James O’Brien, occurred on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Bernard and Dorothy Rachel (Campbell) Cunningham. Betty was a Registered Nurse for 44 years before her retirement and had been employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the DVA Hospital, Dr. Roberts Hospital and Ruth Ross Residence. She is survived by four sons, John of Saint John, Pat (Sherry Vautour) of Saint John, Michael of Vancouver and Sean of Saint John, three daughters, Anne Williams (Tim Caussey), Kathy Spencer (Ken) and Judy O’Brien (John Fillmore) all of Saint John, two sisters, Barbara Ferguson (Skip) of Saint John and Dawn Myshrall (Joseph) of Fredericton, 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, Jeffrey and one sister, Elaine Boterill. By request there will be no visiting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 12:00 Noon. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
