Obituary of Doris Evelyn Bailey
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Doris Evelyn “Dolly” Bailey, wife of the late Thomas E. Bailey passed away on Sunday, January 07, 2007. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Avery W. and Selena V. (Darres) Hewey. Dolly loved to knit, play Bingo, watch hockey and baseball. Surviving are her two daughters, Joan (Arthur) Blizzard of Saint John, NB and Mary (Brian) Pike of Rothesay, NB; grandchildren: Beverley Mott (Dale), Joseph Morgan, Cindy Morgan, Scott Morgan, Brian Pike (Line) and Steven Pike (Wendy); great-grandchildren: Lindsey and Jillian Mott, Andrew and Daniel Morgan, Sarah and Tyler Morgan, Justin and Josee Pike. Also surviving are five brothers: Kenneth and Raymond Hewey, both of Nerepis, NB, Douglas (Barbara) Hewey of Saint John, NB, Malcolm (Eleanor) Hewey of Prince of Wales, NB and Murray (Annette) Hewey of St. Mathias Sur-Richelieu, QC; two sisters: Margaret Buchanan and Shirley (Edward) Boyce and sister-in-law, Alice Hewey, all of Saint John, NB; one Aunt, a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Dolly was predeceased by her sisters, Kathryn and Audrey and brothers, Charles and Allan. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 11 am. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor’s choice.
