Obituary of Muriel Sarah Christiansen
CHRISTIANSEN, MURIEL S.- The death of Muriel Sarah Christiansen in her 99th year, of the Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, wife of the late Frank E. Christiansen, occurred on Friday, January 12, 2007 at her residence. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Saint John on April 17, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Fidler) Weaver. Mrs. Christiansen loved children and was a School Teacher at Lorne School for several years and later taught private kindergarten in her home. Muriel was a member of St. James the Less Anglican Church, the ACW and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a life member of Kings College in Halifax, the secretary for the Alexandra Society of Kings College and a member of the Ladies Choral Group. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Dixon (William) of Oshawa, ON, two sons, Eric Christiansen (Patricia) of Rothesay and Karl Christiansen (Sharon) of Porters Lake, NS, grandchildren, Neil, Peter (Karen), Donald (Stormi), David, Shawn (Vicki) and Michelle (Matt), four great grandchildren, Morgan, Hayden, Abigail and Liam, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Francis Weaver, infant brother, Richard Weaver and two sisters, Connie McKeen and Grace Fitzpatrick. Resting at St. James the Less Anglican Church, 1760 Rothesay Road, Rothesay, NB on Monday, January 15, 2007 from 12:00 Noon until Christian Burial Service at 2:00 PM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donors’ choice. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
