Obituary of William Raymond Smith
The death of William “Bill” Raymond Smith of Saint John, husband of Joan “Toni” Smith, occurred on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Raymond Joseph and Susan Marjorie (Touchbourne) Smith. Bill was the owner and operator of Parrtown Beverage Room for many years. He was a member of St. Pius X Church, the Adanac Club and was an avid reader and sportsman. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, William Raymond Smith Jr. (Shawn Montague) of Rothesay, William Archibald Smith (Mary-Claire Gormley) of Saint John and Lawrence Daniel Smith (Jeannelle Collin) of Saint John, one daughter, Margaret Susan Roy of Saint John, three brothers, Archibald (Mary Jane) of Saint John, Albert (Barbara) of Sussex and Gordon (Mary) of Dartmouth, NS, four grandchildren, Joanie, Sara, Tony and Steele, three great grandchildren, Brett, Catana and Madison, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Tracy Wallace, son-in-law, Robert Roy and one brother, Daniel Smith. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Lung Association or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
