Obituary of Gladys R. Cole

The death of Gladys Rowena Cole of 294 Duke Street, Saint John, occurred on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Oreian and Cora G. (Ferris) Cole. Miss Cole graduated from Saint John High School and Modern Business School and was employed as a Medical Secretary with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs for many years before her retirement. She is survived by sister-in-law, Shirley Cole of Saint John, niece, Diane Novaczek of Rothesay, nephews, Wayne Cole (Linda) of Ottawa, ON and Gerald Cole (Kim) of Vancouver, BC, several great nieces and a great nephew. She was predeceased by one brother, Douglas Cole. By request there will be no visitation. A family graveside service will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
