Obituary of Constance Dorothea Inches ‘Dodie’ Schofield
, The death of Dodie Schofield occurred on February 22, 2007 at the St. John & St. Stephen Church Home. Born in Saint John, October 18, 1914, she was the only daughter of the late Harold Cowan Schofield and Mary Kingsbury (Inches) Schofield. Dodie’s early education took place at Miss Rainie’s School, followed by Victoria Street School and Saint John High School, from where she graduated. She worked at the Federal Income Tax Department in Saint John for over 30 years. She was a member of the Garrison Officers Badminton Club, Trinity Church Young Women’s Guild, Westfield Golf & Country Club, the I.O.D.E. Lady Moyra Ponsonby Chapter, the New Brunswick Historical Society and the local association for the Girl Guides. Dodie was a life long member of Trinity Church where she served many years on the Vestry. She will be missed by her cousins the Blanchets and the Teeds and by Don and Martha Shephard. Following cremation at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), the funeral service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007, at 1:00 pm from Trinity Church. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to Trinity Church or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
