Obituary of Arthur Frederick London
The death of Arthur Frederick London Sr., of 145 Belmont Street, Saint John, husband of Mable Jacqueline “Jackie” (Woodworth) London, occurred on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 25, 1938, and raised on the Straight Shore, he was the son of the late Harry R. and Frances E. (McCormick) London. Arthur was a Long Shoreman for many years at the Port of Saint John and had also employed at the 3 Mile Tavern, the Fairville Tavern, the Harbour Tavern, and Maritime Industries before his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, bingo, sitting at the mall, hockey, curling, hunting, and ice fishing but most of all his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Besides his wife, he is survived by six sons, Harold “Hal” (Cindy) of Fredericton Junction, Dale (Lynn Ryan), Joseph “Joe” (Sheri Dryden) both of Saint John, Harry (Chantal), Arthur Jr. “Art” (Michelle) and Wayne (Danielle) all of Rothesay, one sister, Betty Corey (Gerald) of Saint John, 12 grandchildren, Harold Jr. “Hal”, Steele, Christina, Kirstie, Cara, Michael, Kyle, April, Kirklind, Jordan, Joshua, and Jamie, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Harry R. London. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Wednesday 7-9 PM only. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick of the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
