Obituary of Patrick J. O’Donnell
The death of Patrick Joseph O’Donnell of Highmeadow Drive, Saint John, husband of Elizabeth (Ingersoll) O’Donnell, occurred on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS on June 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Patrick and Doreen (Patterson) O’Donnell. Mr. O’Donnell was a truck driver with Baxter Dairies for over 30 years before his retirement. He enjoyed gambling, horse racing and meeting up every day with the gang at the coffee shop on Rothesay Avenue. Special thanks to his brother, Robert for all of his support to the family during Patrick’s illness. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Patrick (Joanne), Michael (Monique), Wayne all of Saint John and Jody (Tracy) of Yarmouth, NS, one daughter, Heidi Soucy (Larry) of Saint John, one brother, Robert (Donna) of Saint John, brother-in-law, Jack Raynes of the Kingston Peninsula, two sisters, Dianne Moore (James) of the Kingston Peninsula and Ruth Despres (Cleo) of Toronto, ON, ten grandchildren, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Gail Raynes. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim’s Church on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances to the Schizophrenia Society of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
