Obituary of Judith Marie ‘Judy’ Nobles McIlveen
The unexpected passing of Judith Marie ‘Judy’ Nobles McIlveen occurred on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at her residence in Grand Bay-Westfield. She was born in Saint John August 31, 1958 daughter of the late Margaret (Stevens) and William Nobles. She was the beloved wife and best friend of F. Paul McIlveen. Judy by her kindly disposition and generous spirit embraced a large circle of friends whose lives she shared and enriched with her many interests and talents. She was an accomplished photographer and enjoyed seasonal sports, boating, gardening and bowling. She also had a keen interest and love of dogs and horses and was an advocate of animal welfare. Judy graduated from St. Vincent’s High School in 1976. She was employed with Brooke Bond Foods for a number of years and was presently co-owner of McIlveen Medical Insurance which she and her husband Paul operated. In addition to her husband she is survived by her step-children Donna, Erin and Christopher McIlveen, sisters Katherine McCoombs (Garth) of Fredericton, Evelyn Mercer (Don) of Saint John, and a niece and nephew Sara and Corey McCoombs. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Following cremation a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at 11:00 am, from St. Pius X Church. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Pius X Church Hall. Donations in Judy’s memory may be made to Hospice Saint John or a charity of the donor’s choice with appreciation of the family.
