Obituary of Barbara Florence Reeves RN

Barbara Florence Reeves (Hunter) RN of Kennebecasis Park, Rothesay, beloved wife of Robert G. (Bob) Reeves, died at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 30, 2003. Born In Montreal, QC, Barbara was the daughter of the late Piercy S. Hunter and Gertrude (Stubbs) Hunter. She was a graduate of Saint John High School and the Saint John General Hospital. She was a member of St. David's United Church, Rothesay and the Riverside Golf and Country Club where she enjoyed golf and curling with her dear friends for many years. She was an avid gardener and constant reader. Barbara was an active volunteer during her many years as a resident of Kennebecasis Park. She also volunteered for Saint John Ambulance. One of her most treasured times was as a volunteer at Kennebecasis Park Elementary School where she helped children improve their reading skills. She was predeceased by her eldest son, James Hunter Reeves in 1991. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children Lynn Grant (Bill) of Kennebecasis Park, Rothesay, Paul Reeves of Saint John, Janet Watt (Patrick) of Saint John, and John Reeves (Kathryn) of Barrie, ON. Surviving also are her cherished grandsons: Robert Grant, Reeves Watt, Montgomery Watt, Hunter Watt, Steven Reeves, and Dean Reeves. Also survived by her brother William H. (Bill) Hunter (Marion), Rothesay, and her sister Joan Hall (Keith), Wolfville, NS. Survived also by her brothers-in-law: George Reeves (Beth), Kentville, NS and William Reeves (Mona), Sydney, NS, along with several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. David's United Church, Rothesay, on December 13, 2003 at 10:00 am. While Barbara had a great love of flowers, it is her wish that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of ones choice.
