Obituary of Kathleen Rose “Kay” Carson
Carson, Kathleen Rose “Kay” (Doyle) - Passed away peacefully in her sleep at 11PM on November 22, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Kay spent her final hours in comfort, surrounded by her loving family. Dear wife of Robert Carson, mother of Tammy Carson (Mike) and Bruce Carr (Carena); grandmother of Michelle, Kyli, Thomas, Evan, Gavin and Kate; Sister to Pat (Charlie) Dollar, Norman (Sue) Doyle, Bob (Donna) Doyle, and Danny (Mary Ellen) Doyle. Kay will also be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kay is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Anne Doyle. Kay will be remembered for her generous heart, sense of humor, and gentle, kind humble nature; a person who loved a good laugh and laughed often. Kay has spent most of her working life as a cashier, most recently at the Millidgeville Superstore, and prior to that at the Prince Edward Square IGA. People would line up at her check out line even if there were other shorter lines as she was always quick to share her sense of humor and a smile with anyone that came through. Kay enjoyed the affection of many of her loyal customers and coworkers and loved working with the public. Born December 19, 1946, Kay grew up in Acamac and remained a life long resident of Saint John. Our darling Kay, you were truly an angel amongst us, given to us for too short a time. We are so grateful for your life. We will miss your laughter, your companionship and most of all your turkey gravy - mmmm. Friends may call on Sunday, November 25 and Monday, November 26 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 1 pm in Brenan’s Chapel. Followed by an interment ceremony at Fernhill Cemetery. To those who wish, donations may be made to the Saint John Animal Rescue League, 143 Taylor Avenue, Saint John NB, (642-0920) The family wishes to acknowledge the nurses and staff at the Regional Hospital 4B South. We are grateful to you as your compassion and support has made a real difference to Kay and to the family over the past 6 weeks.
