Obituary of D. JEAN HARRISON
HARRISON, D. JEAN – The death of Dorothy Jean Harrison of Saint John, NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 5th., 2007 surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, NS, Jean was the daughter of the late John and Elsie (Fillier) Chard of Newfoundland. Jean spent most of her life in Saint John, graduating from Saint John Vocational School, raising her family, then working at Zellers Department Store, King Street. She was a member of Park Avenue United Church, the Friend’s Club of Park Avenue United Church, #34 Order of The Eastern Star and the Renforth Seniors’ Club. Jean was predeceased by her husband, William Harrison; her brother, Herbert Chard; sister, Mary Trecartin and brother-in-law, Robert Trecartin. She is survived by her sons, Bev (Marje) Harrison of Hampton, NB; Rev. Larry (Susanne) Harrison of Brookfield, NS; daughter, Mary Lou Harrison of Rothesay, NB; sister-in-law, Florence Astles; also three grandchildren, Stacey Harrison, Brent (Meredith) Harrison and Nigel Harrison; a great-grandson, Gavin William Harrison; and several nephews and nieces. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, December 6th. From 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Park Avenue United Church on Friday, December 7th. At 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery. Donations may be made to Park Avenue United Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB, the NB SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
