Obituary of Blanche Flewelling

The passing of Blanche Evelyn Frances (Garnett) Flewelling occurred December 19, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born, November 17, 1927 in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the wife of the late Harvey Flewelling Sr. and the loving mother of six children: Star (Wayne) Walker, Harvey Jr. (Marilyn) Dorothy (Glenn) Braydon, Roseanna (Gary) Kirkpatrick all of Saint John, Gloria (Sam) Greer of Ontario, Bradford (Pam) of Vancouver, sixteen grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two great-grandchildren. Blanche was the loving daughter of Daniel and Laura (McArthur) Garnett and caring sister to Dorothy Thompson, Louise Hewitt, Patricia Belding, Donna Drew, Murray, Lawrence, Douglas, David, and Gregory Garnett. She was a member of the Garnett Settlement Christian Church and participated in the Ladies Guild of the church for many years. The family will receive visitors at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, New Brunswick, 634-7424 on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Garnett Settlement Christian Church on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring at Garnett’s Settlement Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Though we may mourn the loss of our mother/grandmother/sister, it is comforting to know she is resting in the hands of her Lord and Saviour.
