Obituary of Lewellyn M. Adshade
Adshade, Lewellyn M. Sr. … The death of Lewellyn “Lew”Melville Adshade Sr. of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Vera (Cross) Adshade, occurred on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Oxford, NS, he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Faulkner) Adshade. Lew had served in World War II with the RCAF, was a member of Lancaster United Baptist Church, a Mason with Carleton Union # 8, Luxor Shriner and the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing. Lew is survived by one son, Lew Jr. (Nancy) Adshade of Saint John, NB; one daughter Carolyn (Thomas) Smith of Willow Grove, NB; two sisters, Kathleen McCarthy and Thelma Moore, five grandchildren: Ian, Richard, Angela, Carla and Stacie, eight great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by four brothers: Ferni, Carl, Gordon and Logan, three sisters: Flora, Viola and Ada. By Lew’s request there will be no visitation. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424).
